Kids always sleep during car rides. Sometimes, parents even drive around just to help their kids fall asleep faster. This Holy Week, families will sure go to vacations and more kids will sure sleep or even cry their hearts out during car rides out of sheer boredom.
Can we even make car rides enjoyable for kids? The answer is yes.
- Remove the tablet and do some I Spy
Tablets can make your kids vomit and have motion sickness. Also, this vacation time should make us unplug, not plug more. If you have kids who are toddlers, you can always do some ‘I spy with my little eye something….” And then tell the color or the shape of something that your kid will recognize.
- Carpool Karaoke
Carpool Karaoke is on the rave right now. Many celebrities and singers are now singing in their cars while driving around. We can do this with our kids too, but make sure that you hit that “Let It Go” note correctly!
- Keep cookies in your car
Hunger stems from boredom. Make sure that you have various cookies and other food that your kid loves. We’re sure that they’ll request it from you. But don’t forget to pack up some water!
One last thing, always keep your kids in their child car seats while doing all these activities. We don’t know when the car will suddenly stop and when a crash will happen. It is better to have your children buckled up and protected, than to see them suffering because you didn’t take the proper precautions.
